What is a “Water Well”?
It is a shallow well or borehole supplied with pumps that bring up to the surface clean water ready to use or drink.
A water well can provide a an entire village with clean water saving them from waterborne such as: cholera, diarrhea, dysentery, hepatitis A, typhoid, and polio and a lot more preventable health risks.
According to UNICEF, lives of 4,000 children can be saved daily if given access to clean water.
Women and children can save 200 million hours of their time that is dedicated to collecting water. Instead, this could be redirected towards education, work, and improved quality of life.
Also when wells built near schools, it increase attendance.
